QuickPeep Feature for Twitter
RSA Brief 2021

For this project, we were given two packs of briefs from RSA and ISTD. I chose the 'Bridging the Divide' brief from RSA which asks the question 'How might we harness social media to bridge societal divides through supporting social connection, collective action and reducing polarisation?'.
Spending a lot of time on Twitter, I realised that Twitter has an ongoing problem with detecting and slowing down the spread of false information on their platform. I observed this problem more thoroughly by gathering Tweets of frustrated Twitter users. These users wanted a feature that lets people fact check as well as make it easier for them to engage in conversations regarding important and difficult issues.
I designed a feature for Twitter that has two main goals: One is to tackle misinformation and polarisation and the other is to encourage nervous users to engage in conversations knowing the information they sourced is fact checked and reliable.
